When League of Legends, Riot Games ‘ first title, debuted in 2009, esports as we know it today didn’t exist. Video game competitions were the preserve of a few enthusiasts and media attention was sporadic, almost non-existent. Over the course of ten years, esports has evolved and so has Riot Games itself, the company that more than any other has intuited, and been able to follow, the path that competitive gaming would have taken. It is therefore not surprising if a title like VALORANT, and unlike apex legends boosting service; officially released in June 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, has all the prerequisites for being a success. Protagonist is already in the limited access phase, when in April, a year ago, he became the most followed streamed on Twitchwith 34 million hours watched in a single day and a peak of 1.7 million contemporary viewers, VALORANT has completed twelve months since its official release: enough to understand if and how much it will be a title that we will continue to see in the next ten years in the Italian and world competitive scene. You can buy valorant boosting for better rank.
Attention to the players first of all.Compared to League of Legends, the flagship of Riot Games, VALORANT certainly takes advantage of the company’s decennial experience in the gaming and competitive scene accumulated, as well as by the habit of viewers to follow events and live streams on Twitch or Youtube, the most important channels on which everyone is now aiming to advertise their video games and entertainment-related content. In these starting conditions it is undoubtedly easier to be able to tell and disseminate a new title, especially in a segment, that of FPS, or first-person shooters, which seemed crystallized: Counter-Strike, a practically identical title for 20 years, and Rainbow Six Siege, an ever-growing video game, were the only two choices for fans of the genre,
VALORANT, unlike Immortal Boost; has brought freshness, managing to combine the simplicity and intuitiveness of CS: GO with the complexity of strategic choices given by the agents’ skills, peculiar to each of them, and by the design of the maps. Even before the competition, however, Riot Games’ attention has focused on the daily user, on the gamer whose primary objective is not to compete but to have fun enjoying a gaming experience that makes him want to come back. Over the course of nine months, the novelties followed one another constantly, including new agents, new maps, aesthetic contents for all tastes and above all different game modes from the classic competitive and often atypical ones: from the ” Snowball fight ” in occasion of Christmas, up to the more recent “ Arms race”. A concept often used also on League of Legends: the game must possess all the requirements for those who want to transform their passion into a profession, and therefore competitive games, but different modes must also coexist to entice more casual users to play and have fun together with your friends.
The exodus from the other FPS. It is precisely what Riot Games has achieved on League of Legends the added value of VALORANT: a value that has prompted numerous competitive players of other titles to marry the new tactical shooter, abandoning his career, often even well started, on other video games. Sinatraa ‘s farewells to the Overwatch League caused a sensation, as did those of Mixwell , Wardell , Hiko , Tenz and Scream , all key figures of the international competitive Counter-Strike scene, who passed to VALORANT.
We have also experienced a recent example in Italy with Tommaso Gavioli , alias ” joYnt “, for years a player and coach on Overwatch at very high levels. After having even coached the Italian national team on the Blizzard title , Gavioli decided to embark on a new professional path on VALORANT, marrying the project of the Czech organization Entropiq after the experience gained with Italian teams in 2020. Needless to say, his players all arrive from other FPS titles: Hyp and Taimou are two ex-proplayers of the Overwatch League, VlaDéDé and APO have played at high levels on CS:GO, and finally Twisten comes from Rainbow Six Siege.
But how do you build a competitive scene? Riot Games to competitively launch VALORANT played on two different levels. On the one hand, offering as many tournaments as possible thanks to the collaboration with third-party organizers, on the other, promoting dissemination, and therefore knowledge of the game, through various show matches and demonstration tournaments. The more the spectator knows about the game, the more he will continue to play it and follow its tournaments. To bring the public closer in the first year, VALORANT has thus focused on involving influencers and representatives of the gaming world who would introduce esports users to the new game. ProGaming Italia has brought VALORANT into the Italian Esports Open 2020 circuitin the showcase of Lucca Comics & Games, with a more competitive edge. PG Esports has instead focused on various initiatives during 2020, concluded in December with the VALORANT FPS All Star and the participation of various representatives of the Italian gaming world, all coming from different competitive titles: Predax for Call of Duty, Nisa for Apex Legends , DragonEddy for Overwatch, LordByron for Counter-Strike.
